In the early 1960's Parkmore was a
relatively new suburb full of young couples. The then property
developer, Roberts & Co. realised the need for a Nursery school in
the area, and allocated the double stand between 8th and 9th
Streets. In March 1961, Parkmore Nursery School was officially
opened. In 44 years, Parkmore Nursery School has had 8 headmistresses who have guided the school through to it present level of excellence. Over the years, the school has expanded considerably with alterations and improvements being made on a regular basis in consultation with parents in order to satisfy the needs of the approximately 80 young leaners. The school continues to operate as a non-profit organisation managed by a board elected by the parent body. This board is solely responsible to the parent body. |
